Above is a picture of a Hoogaars, a typical Dutch sail boat used in days gone
by as a fishing boat.
The proprietor's grandfather was a fisherman and he worked on a Hoogaars in the North Sea.
The Seattle Human Services Coalition (SHSC) is a multi-racial, multi-cultural group of over 265 human service coalitions, agencies, programs and individuals committed to helping residents meet their basic human needs. They developed their first shared agenda 20 years ago in 1987.
Together, the coalition works to shape public policy to help people meet their basic human needs, including such issues as homelessness, hunger, domestic violence, childcare, literacy, aging, disabilities, sexual assault, health care, employment, racial equity, and child/youth development.
